Bering receives iF Design Award 2012After scooping the OutDoor Industry Award 2011 and landing among the finalists of the OTS Award in the UK, the Nordisk high-tech sleeping bag Bering has now won the attractive german iF material design award for 2012. The sleeping-bag convinced the panel of judges and beat 96 other entries in the category "Material / Material Properties" with its revolutionary BlackYarn fabric made of a unique mix of nylon fibres and coal particles. Nordisk helps survivors in TurkeyThe 28th of October the Danish Emergency Management Agency loaded a Danish Hercules Transport Aircraft with emergency aid for the survivors of the eartquake in Turkey. Aboard was several hundred tents and sleeping bags from Nordisk... ”We were contacted thursday the 27th at noon, and at 7 pm the truck from the Danish Emergency Management Agency were packing the equipment from our warehouse in Hamburg. Friday morning the truck shipped the goods to a Hercules aircraft in Aalborg in the north of Denmark, and later friday the aid reached the area of the catastrophy, where we hope it will make a big difference”, Erik Møller explains. |

Nordisk at Globewelt 2011This week the 2nd Globewelt is taking place in the german outdoor specialist Globetrotter’s outlet in Cologne. The Globewelt fair started up last year and attracted a large number of customers who had a chance to get ”behind the scenes” and learn more about the different brands and products. Also this year Nordisk will be present at the entire fair, and today at 3 pm our german sales manager Kai Krüger will tell more about the Wind Test of Nordisk tents. |

Lempo 2: Best BuyThe german magazine ”Outdoor” has tested Nordisk Lempo 2 ”On Tour” and in the November issue Lempo 2 has received the attractive ”Outdoor Kauf Tipp” label. ”Lempo 2 from Nordisk is among the best tents within its price range. The making, the indoor environment and the weather protection is convincing”, but also the spaciousness and ability to resist strong winds are mentioned as very positive features – and at a very reasonably price. Furthermore the magazine stresses the weight of Lempo 2, which for a tent this size is extremely low! |

Ultra Lightweight Air Mat scores 4 out of 5The danish test-site ”Grejguide.dk” has tested Nordisk Ultra Lightweight 6-channel air mat, and is much satisfied. The air mat has been tested both in- and outdoor, and the conclusion is, that it works very well. The mat is much better than traditional foam-mats, and it is also ”much better than my old Therm-a-Rest mat, which I have chosen to give away to somebody else”. Also the very small pack size and the ultra low weight is emphasized as very positive features. The mat received 4 out of 5 thumbs up. |

Bering finalist for the OTS 2011 Novel AwardNordisk Bering were among the finalists at the recent OTS 2011 Novel Award at the Outdoor Trade Show held in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire in the UK. Only three models were nominated in the sleeping bag category. Bering won the 2nd place, as the jury favoured a sleeping bag with an LED headlight on the hood! But Bering received a lot of exposure and the interest for this model is rapidly growing... Bering will hit the market spring 2012. |

NUNAAT TESTED – ”VERY GOOD AND WELL-SHAPED”UK-based Trail Magazine has tested the Nordisk Nunaat sleeping bag, and concludes that Nunaat is ”one of the better bags for cold nights – perfect for 3-season use”. NORHEIM 3 SI TESTED: 4 OUT OF 5The danish website "Grejguide" specialised in testing outdoor gear has tested Norheim 3 SI with good results. Also a few users have rated the tent, and here the score reaches 4,5 out of 5! The fabric, the materials and the construction is mentioned as very positive elements - and the aluminium pegs included are highlighted as a very positive thing, since most tents (also the expensive ones) normally comes with relatively bad pegs. KRAFLA TESTED "VERY GOOD"German outdoor magazine "Outdoor" just tested 11 mats and found that Krafla was a very good choice on tour - especially if you need a broader and more comfortable mat than normal. The conclusion says: "Nordisk offers an extra wide mat in normal length which is very comfortable and braves the iciness. In return the user has to carry a 1,3 kg mat with a big packing volume." NORDISK CHALLENGE WAS A GREAT SUCCESThe 29th and 30th of april Nordisk Challenge was held in and around Silkeborg. Starting up with a prologue friday evening including rafting, (fully dressed) swimming, rappelling an of course running, the audience was overwhelmed with the extraordinary show downtown Silkeborg. Starting out saturday morning at 1 am with the last team returning sunday morning at 3 am, Nordisk Challenge were not for sissies! This inspired the local newspaper and the regional TV, who both covered the event. Danish Team Dare Devils with Maria, Torbjørn og Allan won the race in 18 hours and 32 minutes, and are therefore now Danish Champions in Adventure Race.... Read More |

PASCH SI TESTED: ROOMY AND COMFORTABLEThe UK based "Trail Magazine" and "Live For The Outdoors" has tested Pasch SI, and the conclusion is, that Pasch SI is a very roomy one-person tent for a comfortable night out. "Pasch SI has plenty of room for internal gear storage, which you'll need as the porch is quite small, but there's still room enough in the porch for reasonably sheltered cooking and leaving your footwear outside." LAGERLÖF PU TESTWINNERThis week the brand new Nordisk Catalogue 2011 are leaving the printing machines, and again this year it's available In february the belgian newspaper nieuwsblad.be tested a range of different tents including tents from Coleman, Robens, Vaude and Nordisk. The scores were given on a 10-point scale and went from 6.5 to 9.5, but it was Lagerlöf PU from Nordisk that got the highest score 9.5, whereas e.g. Vaude Taurus II only achieved 7. Especially the fact that Lagerlöf PU is a very practical and light tent which is easy to build up were decisive for the high score. NORDISK TENTS CAN SURVIVE A HURRICANEIn January 2011 we tested our tents in a Wind Tunnel in order to define the tolerance of each tent towards extreme wind conditions. The tents were tested in jumps of 2,5 m/s, and several models passed the magic limit of 32,7 m/s which according to the Beaufort Wind Force Scale is the official definition of a hurricane. Especially Nordisk Pasch performed well, and due to security reasons we even had to stop the test at 35 m/s, where Pasch still were standing. See the teaser here |

NEW NORDISK SHOP IN ANTWERPThe 1st of december 2010 Nordisk in cooperation with Elements opened the first Nordisk and Yeti Shop-in-Shop in Europe - a 475 m2 big shop situated on one of the most popular shopping streets in Antwerp, Belgium. Now the shop has been running for a couple of months and the results are very positive. Especially the Nordisk bags, but also the Retro Zone tents, have gained a lot of attention, like the information about BSCI which has caused high interest and good discussions with the customers. |

The race takes place in the weekend 30th of April-1st of May with prologue friday the 29th of April. JUMALA 3 TESTWINNER IN FIT FOR FUNThe german magazine "Fit For Fun" has tested a range of tents under the headline "Holiday in a tent is cult". Nordisk Jumala 3 was among others tested against Fjällräven, Salewa and Vango, but Jumala 3 was chosen winner without doubt. Easy to build, small to carry, practical pockets and especially the love for details is being emphasised when the arguments are lined up. Jumala 3 is the obvious winner with extra points for the little polar bear on the pole pockets. |

NORDISK ENTERS ASIAIn the late autumn 2010 Nordisk together with Yeti launched a 3-week campaign at the Sign Café in the heart of Tokyo marking the entry on the japanese market - and just before christmas we also signed a sales and distribution contract with Pilz International in Korea. NORDISK IN DANISH FILM SUCCES: 14.12.2010One of the most popular danish sit-com ever called "Klovn" (Clown) has reached the big screen as "Klovn: The Movie". It's a story about two friends who gets into all kinds of trouble. The story is revolved around a canoe trip in the lakes around Silkeborg, and here the main characters is travelling with Nordisk equipment like Piru 4, Sarek LP and lots of other items. The movie has premiere the 16th of december and has already gained a lot of national attention in the press, on TV and the Web, where there are more than 225.000 members on the Movie Facebook-site.
